Brussels (Brussels Morning) – Brussels Airlines gears up for a bustling summer with over 1.2 million passengers expected. New services and enhanced customer offerings aim to elevate travel experience across its network.

Brussels Airlines is prepared for the busy summer holidays. More than 1.2 million people will journey with Brussels Airlines during July and August. The Belgian national airline takes several Endeavours to make sure all operations run smoothly, and passengers acquire a top-notch customer experience.

Summer is traditionally the most active season in the aviation industry, and 2024 is no different. In Europe, Islands are extremely popular this summer with full flights to Zakynthos, Corfu and Rhodos in Greece and Gran Canaria, Mallorca, and Lanzarote in Spain. But also city travels during summer are prevalent, especially in cities known for a little milder climate like Stockholm and Gothenburg in Sweden.

Outside Europe, many Belgians determined to explore the United States during the summer. Brussels Airlines conducts direct flights to New York JFK and Washington DC. In partnership with tour operators, destinations like Hurghada (Egypt) and Antalya (Turkey) are also very full.

Brussels Airlines has extended its network.

What special initiatives have Brussels Airlines introduced for Tomorrowland?

Brussels Airlines anticipates bringing over 20.000 party people to Belgium for Tomorrowland. The airline persists its tradition of the world-famous group flights, this year with the brand-new Amare plane.

New this year is that all Global Journey boxes from Tomorrowland are so-called “Tomorrowland Green Fares”, including the acquisition of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) to lower 20% of individual flight-related carbon emissions. On the typical party flights, Brussels Airlines and Tomorrowland have approached a partnership to even lower 100% of the carbon emissions of these specific party flights by the purchase of SAF.

How has Brussels Airlines prepared its crew and staff for summer?

Brussels Airlines employed 180 additional cabin crew members and 64 different pilots. The airport teams in Brussels have also been supported with 40 new passenger service agents, and on top of that: 70 summer pupils supporting the ground staff.

As of this summer season, Brussels Airlines delivers Business Class on all its flights, including to popular leisure goals in Spain, Greece, and North Africa. This way, the airline reacts to the growing need for a premium product amongst leisure travellers.

Brussels Airlines didn’t only extend the footprint of the Business Class offer, it also supported its product to remain at the top of the enterprise, amongst others with an improved meal offer on short- and medium-haul flights and with numerous summer events in THE LOFT, the most prominent lounge of Brussels Airlines.

What improvements were made to Brussels Airlines’ online services?

The chatbot on Brussels Airlines’ website has been improved to help passengers even better in point of irregularities. Also, a “pre-seating robot” was created within Lufthansa Group, that allocates seats to passengers according to bonding times. This means passengers with a secured connection will be able to dismount the aircraft first, increasing the chance for them to make their connection.
