Brussels: 33-year-old stabbed thrice near Tour & Taxis

Brussels (Brussels Morning Newspaper)- On Aug 4, 2025, around 12:30 a.m. near Brussels’ Tour & Taxis, a 33-year-old man was stabbed 3 times on Havenlaan. The attacker fled; police and prosecutors are investigating and reviewing footage.

As VRT News reported, on Aug 4, 2025, around 12:30 a.m., a 33-year-old man was found injured on Havenlaan in Brussels, near Tour & Taxis. He had been stabbed 3 times.  Emergency workers came fast and took him to the hospital. The man’s status remains unknown. His injuries are still being assessed by doctors. The police are also still trying to figure out what happened.

What’s behind the stabbing near Brussels’ Humanitarian hub on Havenlaan?

The stabbing took place near the Humanitarian Hub in Brussels. This centre helps migrants, asylum seekers, and homeless people. Officers said the area routinely has a lot of people in an outreach situation, but there are also people who cause problems. 

The police are also investigating whether either the victim or the attacker has any connections to the Hub. The attacker fled the scene shortly after the stabbing and has not been apprehended Thus far, Brussels’ public prosecutor has opened an investigation in the hopes to apprehend the offender. 

Brussels’ public prosecutor has opened a formal investigation to locate the offender. Forensic experts examined the scene of the attack. The police have started to look at video recordings and interview any witnesses who are available. 

Last year, a stabbing occurred not far from the same location on Havenlaan. In that case, a man was also attacked late at night and suffered serious injuries. The suspect fled and was only caught weeks later after a police investigation.
