The 25-year-old beauty had captured the heart of the Belgian sports sensation and their whirlwind romance was the talk of the town. However, unbeknownst to the public Laura was entangled in a web of deceit one that would soon unravel and expose a dark underbelly of criminal activity.

Cocaine Peddlers Lurk Behind Blankenberge’s Beauty

In Blankenberge, a drug gang called the ‘C-Team’ was secretly dealing cocaine and other drugs. Luca Brecel’s girlfriend Laura Vanoverberghe, was arrested as part of the gang and faces a 37-month suspended sentence. The gang’s leaders risk up to 5 years in prison. The investigation revealed the ‘C-Team’ was operating behind the town’s idyllic facade. Vanoverberghe’s case serves as a warning about the consequences of getting involved with organized crime even if the allure of easy money is tempting

The ‘C-Team’ Drug Gang Exposed

The charges filed against the ‘C-Team’ drug gang members include racketeering conspiracy drug trafficking firearms offenses and other related crimes. The gang members have been implicated in a range of criminal activities, such as drug distribution, violence, and organized crime. The charges against them reflect the serious nature of their involvement in illegal operations, highlighting the extent of their criminal enterprise and the impact of their actions on the community.

Wayan Z. was the alleged head of a drug gang known as the ‘C-Team’ that operated in the Netherlands selling various drugs like cocaine, ecstasy, MDMA, mephedrone, speed, hashish, and cannabis on a large scale. Despite being released twice under certain conditions during the investigation, he continued his illicit activities.During a search 800 ecstasy pills and other drugs were found in his house. Wayan Z. has been in custody since July last year.

Wayan Z. collaborated with Gregory D. from Lievegem to distribute cocaine, with Gregory D. being in custody since July last year. Jorinda D. from Damme was also involved and briefly detained. Laura Vanoverberghe, another individual in the case, was arrested but released after providing extensive information. Laura was involved in selling drugs like cocaine, ecstasy, MDMA, mephedrone, speed, and hashish between March 2022 and January 2023. She initially started as a driver for the gang and later took on an organizing role.

Laura Vanoverberghe confessed to her involvement during police interrogations, attributing her entry into drug sales to her own drug use. She transitioned from a driver to an organizer within the gang. A bank investigation revealed significant deposits of 35,000 euros into her account

Snooker Star’s Girlfriend Faces Suspended Sentence

Prosecutor seeks 5 years for Wayan Z. and Gregory D. both with prior drug convictions. Laura Vanoverberghe faces a 37-month suspended sentence while Jorinda D. faces 37 months.Confiscation of 40,000 euros for Z. and 65,000 euros for Laura requested. Wayan Z.’s lawyer cites cocaine addiction as the reason for their involvement seeking a suspended sentence. Laura wishes to attend her trial in Maasmechelen with her famous boyfriend.
