Beringen: 8th corn maze opens at De Merelhoeve with camping

Beringen (Brussels Morning Newspaper) – De Merelhoeve in Paal (Beringen) opens its corn maze for the 8th year. Organiser Mil Meelbergs adds new camping in the maze, making a summer trip for families.

As VRT News reported, for the 8th year, the corn maze at De Merelhoeve in Paal (Beringen), a small village in the province of Limburg, Belgium, is open again. The maze, next to the petting zoo, has become a popular summer activity for families and visitors of all ages. According to officials, this year, the weather helped the corn grow tall and thick. 

They mentioned that people can walk or ride bikes through the paths. It has become a tradition many look forward to each summer. Mil Meelbergs, who helps organize the event, said,

“We’re cycling through the corn and the maze again this year, just like every year. It’s already the eighth edition.”

What’s new at De Merelhoeve’s corn maze this year?

According to officials, this summer, for the first time, visitors can sleep inside the corn maze. A big tent is set up in the middle of the maze, and up to 10 people can stay there. The tent has a barbecue. In the morning, they can choose a breakfast package. 

The corn maze at De Merelhoeve in Paal (Beringen) is open all summer. Visitors walk through tall corn paths. Along the way, they get simple tasks to do. They solve riddles, look for masked animals, and make drawings. There are also small prizes to win. The maze is made for both children and adults.

The first visitors had already tried the corn maze and were very happy. One child said it was fun to look for the masked animal and to make drawings. A father said his family comes every year, but this time was even better. The tasks were made for both children and adults. He said it took them about an hour to finish. Some people laughed because they walked in circles by mistake.
