Brussels (Brussels Morning Newspaper) – Today on January 25, 2025, in Belgium, expect morning rain, clearing up in some areas by afternoon. Temperatures will be 7°C in the northwest and 11°C in the southeast. Tonight, rain stays in the southeast, with frost in clear areas. Tomorrow starts cold with icy roads in the north and fog in the south, warming to 3-8°C.

The weather will be mostly cloudy today, January 25, 2025, in Belgium. There will be heavy clouds in the sky. In the morning, it will rain a lot. As the day goes on, the rain will start to decrease. By the afternoon, many places will have some dry time.

However, the southeast part of Belgium might still have rain in the afternoon. Showers will continue in that area. Even though the skies look gloomy, the raindrops will make the day feel better as it goes on.

What are the expected temperature variations and weather conditions across Belgium today?

Today, January 25, 2025, temperatures will change across Belgium. Northwestern parts will peak at 7°C. Southern parts, Belgian Lorraine particularly, will get a little warm and reach highs of 11°C. Across the country, the weather is going to be different. Cooler weather will be recorded in the northwest, while in the southeast it will be relatively warm.

Tonight, in the eastern and southeastern parts of Belgium, mostly rain will hang around, hence wetting areas during the night and into late at night. In contrast, the west and northwest of the country will have a different situation. The rain will slowly clear up in these regions, leading to drier weather. Later in the night, the skies in these areas will be clear, which is a big change from the damp weather in the southeast. As the night goes on, the northwest will see some brightness in the sky.

The weather in the Ardennes will change towards the end of the night. In the higher areas, it may start to snow or sleet. Across Belgium, the lowest temperatures will be around freezing. Frost is likely where the skies clear up. These cold conditions will be strongest in the drier northwest, where clear skies could lead to even lower temperatures.

Tomorrow morning January 26 2025, the weather will show clear differences across Belgium. In the northern part, there will be many clear areas in the sky. This means that people can expect sunshine. However, the cold temperatures from the night may create icy spots on roads and sidewalks. Authorities mentioned that drivers and pedestrians should be careful while moving around. It is important to watch for slippery areas.

In the southern part of Belgium, the weather will be different. Low clouds will cover the sky, making it look grey. There is a high chance of fog in many areas. Forecasters mentioned that this fog can make it hard for people to see while driving or walking.

Some light snow or sleet may still fall in the morning. However, this light precipitation will quickly go away as the morning continues. After that, the weather will become drier.

In the afternoon, more clouds will come in from the south as weather systems move in from France. By late afternoon, rain will start falling in the western parts of the country. The highest temperatures will be between 3°C in the cooler areas and 8°C in the warmer areas. This will give a little break from the freezing weather.

Winds will also get stronger during the day, with gusts reaching up to 65 km/h. This will add to the unsettled weather. By the evening, a new rain system from storm Herminia will arrive. This will bring heavier rain and strong winds. The storm will likely cause strong gusts, making the evening stormy and possibly causing problems overnight.

What is Belgium’s weather forecast for Monday?

On Monday, January 27 2025, a rain zone will slowly move out of the country. This will lead to changing weather throughout the day. The morning may still have some rain in certain areas. However, this will soon change to a mix of showers and times when it is clear. There might even be a quick thunderclap in some regions.

The weather will be mild for this time of year, with temperatures between 8°C and 11°C. Strong winds will also be a big part of the day, with gusts reaching up to 75 kilometres per hour. In some areas, the winds might be even stronger.

According to Authorities, these windy conditions could make it hard to enjoy outdoor activities. This is especially true in open areas or near the coast. They mentioned that the mix of showers, strong winds, and mild temperatures will create a busy start to the week.
