Famous Brussels attraction, Autoworld, is set to mark a special landmark… its 40th birthday.
To celebrate it is dedicating a whole day, 4 October, to the anniversary.
It is currently preparing a festive day featuring a special Birthday Edition of Cars & Coffee and a “Best of Show” award ceremony.
There is also an anniversary exhibition, “Autoworld 40 Years – Looking Back to the Future”, exceptionally enhanced with a selection of special guest cars, rides in cars from its collection, free guided tours, activities for children and much more.
The anniversary celebrations start with a special Birthday Edition of Cars & Coffee. Classic and young timer cars will gather on the Esplanade in front of Autoworld for a festive morning among fellow car enthusiasts.
On this special occasion, a jury will also be looking for the most remarkable cars of the day, with awards including “Best of Show” and “Coup de Cœur”.
If you own a classic or young timer car that is at least 20 years old you can register your car for free.
Visitors will get the chance to dive into 40 years of Autoworld exhibition history and discover 15 cars, 2 motorcycles and a Vespa that have previously been featured in some of its most memorable exhibitions.
From the Porsche 918 Spyder and Lamborghini Miura to the Bugatti Type 35B and Ford GT40.
Especially for the anniversary on 4 October, the exhibition will be exceptionally expanded with three remarkable guest cars: a Ferrari Monza SP2 and a Ferrari Daytona SP3, as a nod to our upcoming major exhibition “75 Years of Ferrari in Belgium – A Love Story”, as well as a Bugatti, a true public favourite from one of the museum’s previous exhibitions.
If you have always dreamed of going for a ride in an exceptional car from the Autoworld collection there is something else that might appeal.
Between 2pm and 4pm you’ll have the chance to take a seat as a passenger for a short drive around the Cinquantenaire Park, aboard a Ferrari Testarossa, a 1966 Ford Mustang or the royal Cadillac used for the weddings of King Baudouin and King Albert.
A spokesman said, “It is a a unique opportunity to experience our collection from a completely different perspective: from the passenger seat.”
