Antwerp (Brussels Morning Newspaper) – From August 11-13, 2025, Water-link will repair a drainage gully at Reyndersstraat and Kammenstraat, Antwerp, closing the road with detours for vehicles and cyclists; pedestrians and local traffic maintain access.

As GVA News reported, from Monday, August 11, to Wednesday, August 13, 2025, part of Reyndersstraat in Antwerp will be closed at the crossing with Kammenstraat. Water-link, the local water company, will fix a broken drainage gully in the road.  The closure will block all traffic from passing through this section of Reyndersstraat. Officials mentioned that drivers and residents should expect some changes and plan for the disruption during these three days.

What repair work is planned at the Reyndersstraat and Kammenstraat intersection?

According to officials, during the road closure, drivers will be directed to take a different route. Instead of Reyndersstraat, cars will use Steenhouwersvest and Hoogstraat to get around the work area. Cyclists will follow a separate path on Kammenstraat and Leeuwenstraat. Signs will guide them to stay safe.

They mentioned that  pedestrians near the work area can still pass through safely. Residents, delivery drivers, and local businesses near the intersection will also be able to reach Reyndersstraat during the repairs. The city has shared clear information and set up alternate routes.

What previous repair work has been done at the Reyndersstraat and Kammenstraat intersection?

According to officials, this is not the first time repair work has been needed at the intersection of Reyndersstraat and Kammenstraat. In previous years, the city and Water-link have carried out similar fixes to damaged drainage systems here. The city regularly inspects this area to find issues early and handle them before they get worse.
