Brussels (Brussels Morning Newspaper) – Air China will start Brussels flights to Beijing and Chengdu in March 2026, joining Hainan Airlines, Juneyao Air, and Cathay Pacific, expanding Brussels Airport’s China network and international connections.

As VRT News reported, Air China, the national airline of China, will begin flights to Brussels Airport at the end of March 2026. The airline will connect Brussels directly with Beijing, the capital of China, and Chengdu, a major city in central China with millions of residents. The route to Beijing is already served by Hainan Airlines.

What new Chinese cities will Brussels Airport connect to through Air China?

Chengdu will become the 5th mainland Chinese destination served by Brussels Airport. The city joins Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Chongqing, which started operations just 10 days ago. Hainan Airlines currently operates flights to these Chinese cities, while Juneyao Air also offers services between Brussels and Shanghai.

Brussels Airport is also connected to Hong Kong, a Special Administrative Region of China, through Cathay Pacific flights. In addition to passenger services, cargo flights between Brussels and Chengdu have been running for some time, supporting trade and logistics between Belgium and central China.

Brussels Airport has steadily expanded its flights to China over recent years. In June 2024, Hainan Airlines resumed direct flights to Shanghai after a 4-year break. In July 2024, Juneyao Air also launched nonstop flights between Brussels and Shanghai. Most recently, on November 22, 2025, Hainan Airlines started a new route to Chongqing.
