Kortrijk (Brussels Morning Newspaper) – KV Kortrijk converts 3 luxury boxes into hotel rooms for a charity giveaway by Howest students. Proceeds support AZ Groeninge’s oncology cosmetic care; fans can enter to stay overnight.

As VRT News reported, KV Kortrijk will open 3 stadium boxes as hotel rooms for a charity fundraising event. They mentioned that the offer is part of a new effort to support AZ Groeninge’s oncology department. Beautician Melissa Naert says she sees how these treatments can briefly ease the stress of long hospital days and help patients hold on to a sense of normal life.

Beautician Melissa Naert emphasises,

“A gentle massage or customised skin care not only provides oncology patients with physical relief but also a moment of peace that supports their self-confidence and recovery.”

What is the KV Kortrijk stadium charity stay for AZ Groeninge patients?

According to officials, the future of that service is uncertain because a major part of its funding has disappeared. To respond, AZ Groeninge asked Communication Management students at Howest to help design a way to keep the care going. The students launched a contest that offers a chance to win an overnight stay at the KV Kortrijk stadium. All proceeds will go directly to the beauty care program.

“We developed an idea with seven students and found an enthusiastic partner in KV Kortrik,”

says student Evy Pille.

“They will temporarily transform three of the lodges into charming hotel rooms with double beds. Participants in our contest can win a stay in one of these lodges for the night of December 8th to 9th.”

The prize includes an evening dinner prepared by the club’s catering team and a breakfast with several KV Kortrijk players.

“Supporters can win a night at the KVK stadium by sending the correct answer to the competition question, along with their first and last name, to 4666. The question is: What color do KVK and AZ Groninge have in common?” Pille continues.

“Everyone can participate as much as they like. Each text message costs 1 euro, which goes entirely to the beauty care provided by the oncology department at AZ Groninge.”

The contest opened this morning, Nov 25, 2025, and will run until 11:59 p.m. on December 4, 2025. Participants have a limited time to enter. After the deadline, the organisers will select a winner. The person chosen will receive a phone call with the news on December 5, 2025.

The AZ Groeninge hospital in Kortrijk was founded in 2003 as a result of the merger of 4 hospitals located in Kortrijk and is known for having an exceptional Oncology Department offering cancer patients access to beauty and wellness services that are being offered every fortnight by beautician Melissa Naert. Currently, the services have experienced a significant lack of funding, and the projected resources are running out by February 2026.
