What are the dates and authors for Boektopia 2025 tickets?
This is the 1st edition under the direction of Lore Vanaudenhove, who takes over from Patrick Boeykens.
“This is quite exciting, but I love a challenge,”
says Vanaudenhove.
“The motivation is enormous. We hope to welcome even more people this year than last.”
The 4th edition of Boektopia will bring a wide range of well-known authors and diverse literary offerings to Kortrijk Xpo. Festival director Lore Vanaudenhove said the lineup includes names such as Tom Lanoye, Lara Taveire, Marc De Bel, and Camille. Visitors can explore literary masterpieces, popular fiction, and the latest cookbooks.
Vanaudenhove explained that developing a love for reading at a young age often lasts a lifetime. To further support this, Boektopia will provide dedicated programs, workshops and interactive activities for the children and teens. He said the festival offered great chances for young readers to meet authors, explore genres and participate in literary experiences.
“From a reading circus to small listening houses where children can relax with a listening story, but also treasure hunts where children have to solve a riddle,”
says Vanaudenhove.
Boektopia started in 2018 at Kortrijk Xpo and has grown into one of Belgium’s leading book festivals. From 2019 to 2021, the festival expanded steadily, attracting more authors and visitors. It added readings, book signings, and interactive sessions for both children and adults. In 2022, new programs were introduced specifically for younger audiences, including workshops and activities for children and teenagers. The 2023 edition set a record with 54,000 visitors.
