Dilsen-Stokkem (Brussels Morning Newspaper) – Dilsen-Stokkem transforms camping rafts into luxury glamping tents with kitchens and bathrooms, offering a unique hotel experience on the water.
Two glamping tents that float in the Oude Maas in the Negenoord-Kerkeweerd nature reserve are available for visitors to stay in. They have a kitchen, a chemical toilet, and a bench on the terrace outside.
“We used to have a camping raft,”
says alderman for Tourism, Lydia Peeters (Open VLD).
“That was very basic, but now we have a floating hotel room with everything you need. You can enjoy the silence and the beautiful nature reserve here and have all the privacy you need. There may be some swans, ducks or beavers who come to look at you from a bit closer, but otherwise you have all the privacy you need.”
Soon, visitors will be able to stay in glamping tents that float on the Oude Maas in Dilsen-Stokkem, Belgium, Negenoord-Kerkeweerd nature reserve. Both a six-person and a four-person glamping tent are available.
The tents feature a double bed and bunk beds, a covered outdoor patio with a seat, a living and dining area, a bathroom with a chemical toilet, and a fully furnished kitchen with a stove.
Although there isn’t running water, visitors can still use the Visitor Center De Wissen’s amenities.
Reservations are accepted starting on July 5.
The precise cost of an overnight stay is still unknown. A canoe that guests can use to paddle from the coast to the glamping tent is included with this package. On top of that, anyone who wants to can reserve a kayak.
What are the features of the floating glamping tents?
Located in the protected Negenoord-Kerkeweerd nature area, on the water in the picturesque Oude Maas, offering a peaceful and engrossing natural experience.
Because each tent is made to float, visitors will feel as though they are staying right on the lake.
The tents are outfitted with a chemical toilet for convenience, a small kitchen space for basic culinary needs, and an outdoor terrace with a bench where visitors may unwind and take in the scenery.
