Vorst (Brussels Morning Newspaper) – A fierce fire destroyed a detached house in Vorst near Laakdal this afternoon. Emergency crews responded swiftly, and no injuries were reported.
The ground level living area was where the fire began. There were no injuries, but the house is unusable.
Around 16:50, neighbors observed the fire. They called the emergency services after spotting smoke at the detached home on Beustereind in Vorst, close to Laakdal.
By that point, the fire was already visible through the back of the house’s living room windows. Along the back of the home, they also caused damage to the upper story.
The resident wasn’t home. The house is unusable, but thankfully no one was hurt. The South-West Limburg, Belgium, zone provided aid to the Kempen fire brigade in putting out the fire.
Investigations are ongoing, but a short circuit is most definitely not the cause. Two weeks ago, the electricity was turned off.
What caused the fire to start in the living room of the house?
Living room fires are frequently caused by electrical problems including overloaded power boards, damaged wiring, or hot appliances.
Other common dangers in living rooms are smoking materials, fireplaces, and unattended candles, all of which can set off adjacent combustible objects like drapes or furniture. Because there are so many electronic devices and power sources in living rooms, electrical fires are particularly common there.
Consequently, it is probable that one of these frequent causes—such as an electrical malfunction or an open flame hazard—could have started the fire.
