Moscow (Brussels Morning Newspaper) – Russia rejected U.S. President-elect Trump’s ceasefire proposal, insisting on Putin’s conditions for peace, including Ukraine’s NATO exclusion.

The Russian Foreign Ministry stated that the Kremlin was not prepared to make compromises when it came to Ukraine and that Russian President Vladimir Putin‘s recommendations on how to conclude the confrontation required to be executed.

As reported by Reuter, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stated her remarks following the proposal by U.S. President-elect Donald Trump for an instantaneous ceasefire and talks between Ukraine and Russia to terminate “the madness.”

What are Russia’s security concerns in the Ukraine conflict?

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman expressed Russia was ready to contend with the new U.S. government in Ukraine but had not yet acquired any profound, workable options to handle what she expressed were Russia’s legitimate security situations and concerns about the rights of Ukraine’s Russian-speaking people.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, who has been trying hard for his nation to be asked to join the NATO military coalition, reacted to Trump’s remarks by declaring Kyiv required adequate security assurances.

Zakharova stated that anyone who considered Russia would make compromises on Ukraine was wrong. “Firstly, Russia is operating. Secondly, if someone wishes Russia to make some kind of compromises, apparently these people have a short memory and imperfect knowledge of the matter,” she stated. Putin’s recommendations for peace required to be implemented, she said. Russian President Vladimir Putin has stated that Ukraine must not enter NATO and that Russia requires the entire region of the four Ukrainian areas he has expressed are now part of Russia if there is to be a truce.
