Antwerp (The Brussels Morning Newspaper): Jozef “Bolle Jos” Leidekkers received a 10-year prison sentence and a €200,000 fine for a failed drug smuggling operation in Antwerp, where violence ensued. Flor Bressers, another criminal involved, was sentenced to 2 years.

Jozef “Bolle Jos” Leijdekkers, a well-known figure in the Dutch criminal world, has been given a 10-year prison sentence and fined 200,000 euros for his role in a failed drug operation in the port of Antwerp. This operation involved trying to smuggle a large amount of drugs through the port, which is a common area for drug trafficking. The plan fell apart when there were problems with the shipment, leading to violent events. During the chaos, a fire guard on-site was badly beaten, and this attack was directly linked to Leijdekkers’ orders. His reputation as a major criminal made him the key person in this case, and his conviction is an important step by the authorities to tackle drug-related violence.

Did Bolle Jos and Flor Bressers face justice in Antwerp?

Along with Leijdekkers, another well-known Dutch criminal, Flor Bressers was also sentenced for his part in the incident, but his role was not as serious. Bressers got a two-year prison sentence for his involvement in the same drug operation. He is known as a violent enforcer in drug trafficking and has a history of legal troubles, which makes him a dangerous figure in the drug trade. Even though Bressers had a smaller role in the Antwerp case, his involvement has attracted attention, especially as police in Belgium and the Netherlands are working harder to fight against organized drug gangs.

It has been said that the convictions of Leijdekkers and Bressers are a big win in the fight against organized crime in the region. Antwerp, known as a major hub for cocaine trafficking, has long dealt with criminal groups using its ports for smuggling drugs. These sentences are a major hit to their operations and show the criminal world that authorities are serious about cracking down on them.
