Brussels (The Brussels Morning Newspaper): Within the period of 26 to 30 August Boterhammen Festival will be hosted at Park, Troon and Kunst Wet subway stations. Performances will be put up by well-known artists like Monokimono, Het Zesde Metaal, Willem Ardui, MEAU, Borokov and Babs etc.

The Boterhammen festival can be reached easily through public means. A number of metro stations such as Park Troon Kunst-Wet provide walking distance access with multiple bus and tramways in close proximity including routes 92 and 94. For individuals residing outside Brussels Warande Park is just a short walk from Central Railway Station. Starting off the festival on Monday will be Monokimono together with Het Zesde Metaal. Monokimono which translated into English reads as  all by myself  offers infectious rhythms a colorful stage show coupled with occasionally whimsical Dutch words.

What artists will perform at the Boterhammen festival this year?

Het Zesde Metaal is a famous Flemish band with hit songs like Ploegsteert Naar De Wuppe  and Tid Van Ton. Willem Ardui will mix soul, hip-hop and jazz on Tuesday.  Meau Hewitt will perform, blending Dutch indie pop with synths, dreamy choruses and heartfelt lyrics. The first thing we need to make clear is that the four artists will be presenting on Wednesday. Borokov. Borokov is the first performer. The second one is Babs. She also plays herself a part mixed race. As a mixed-race woman Babs is trying to explore her mixed identity and at the same time hopes that young female and non-binary producers will be inspired in what is still very much a man’s world. After Babs will be Mariposa performing Dutch-language Latin pop inspired by Pastor Lopez, Rodolfo Aicardi, Cardi B and Isaiah Rashad. On Thursday Deadbeat Larry comes on stage at 12. In turn you give way to the lively hip-hop of SEF  whose lyrics are witty and he retains a refreshing attitude always followed by Elmer who burst onto the scene in 2021 with her hip-hop song Je Vader that is full of frankness drawn from comic books.
