Antwerp (The Brussels Morning Newspaper): The recent swimming event in Antwerp was well-organized allowing 100 swimmers every half hour. Alderman Wouters aims to improve attendance management for better experiences and plans a permanent swimming spot.

According to reporters the swimming event last Sunday went well. People had to book tickets beforehand to swim. This way they could control the number of swimmers and make sure everyone had enough space to enjoy the pool.It has been said that it was a great way to stay cool in the hot weather in an organized and safe manner. Even though the event was well organized some people who booked tickets didn’t come. This made Alderman Wouters sad because it meant some spots were empty and not everyone could enjoy the event fully. To make these community events better it’s important to manage attendance more effectively.

How Antwerp’s Alderman Wouters plans to enhance the swimming experience by limiting attendance and improving facilities?

Alderman Wouters wants everyone who books a spot for swimming to actually come. The pool can host 1,000 swimmers each Sunday but for safety and organization only 100 swimmers will be allowed every half hour.It has been said that to make sure everyone stays safe while swimming there are five lifeguards watching over the pool. By limiting the number of swimmers they can keep a close eye on everyone and make sure everyone has a fun and safe time in the water.

Alderman Wouters says it’s important to keep the swimming experience enjoyable. He mentions that part of the fun of swimming outdoors is having enough space and feeling free. If they let too many people in it might get too crowded and spoil the experience. Alderman Wouters says if they let more than 100 people swim every half hour it might get too crowded and everyone could feel squished and uncomfortable like sardines in a can. They want to keep the swimming area nice and spacious so that everyone can have a good time without feeling cramped.

After the next few swimming Sundays they will check how well things are going and see what can be made better. Alderman Wouters knows this is a trial run so they might need to change things based on what people say and what they see. If they find ways to make things even better they will make those changes happen. The city of Antwerp wants to find someone to help build a floating jetty and showers at the MAS for the summer. It has been said this will make a swimming spot that’s always there, making it easier for people to swim there whenever they want.
