Bruges (The Brussels Morning Newspaper): A masked man pushed a Dutch tour guide into a canal in Bruges claiming disrespect for historical sites. The unharmed guide’s attacker confessed and authorities are investigating potential charges.
A person wearing a mask sent an email to the VRTNWS team saying he threw a Dutch guide into the water. He was upset because the guide would stand or sit on old bridges while talking to the group during tours. The masked person thought this was wrong. He believed it broke the rules and showed disrespect to the historical places. The person in the mask said that the guide’s behavior is not allowed. He thinks tours shouldn’t be like circus shows. By throwing the guide into the water he wanted to show how he feels about how historical places are managed and shown.
Why did a masked man throw a tour guide into the water?
The guide who got thrown into the water by the masked man was okay. Even though it was a big deal the guide didn’t get hurt. Falling into the water didn’t cause any injuries and the guide was fine without any more problems. This makes it less worrying because the guide wasn’t harmed during the incident.
A report has been made after the masked man threw the Dutch guide into the water. The legal team will check the case to see if the man will be charged for attacking the guide. They will look at the proof and what happened to decide what legal steps to take. The reasons why the masked man decided to give himself up are not clear yet. It’s unknown why he chose to confess or how this might change the legal process. They are still trying to figure out why he did what he did and why he turned himself in.
