According to officials, the patients do not have to wait at home for their caregiver anymore. They can make an appointment and go to the station at their convenience. The White-Yellow Cross is relieving some pressure off home nurses by sending mobile patients to its new nursing stations. This allows caregivers to focus more on people who need medical attention. It also allows them to assist more patients overall.
The newest nursing station has opened on Staatsbaan in Lubbeek. It is part of a plan to create more regional posts across Flemish Brabant. The White-Yellow Cross reports that the project is already working, but stresses that distance plays a key role in its success.
“It works well, but people need them nearby; otherwise, the effort becomes too great,”

In 2019, the White-Yellow Cross started the establishment of regional nursing stations in Flemish Brabant with its first posts in towns such as Tienen and Aarschot. The model was designed to operate alongside traditional home nursing lines in providing options for the patient that could attend their care either on their own or when a family member could transport them.
Within those 5 years from 2019 to 2024, it has delivered a consistent growth in the number of its own regional stations, which have increased from the original to a total of 14 with the completion of the new post in Lubbeek in September 2025.
