Termelo (Brussels Morning Newspaper) – Tremelo launches “Fit in ’t Zand” at the ’t Zand complex. Alderman Bertrand Eraly offers 10 classes for 25 euros, including yoga, gymnastics, cross-training, and badminton for all ages.
As VRT News reported, Tremelo, in the province of Flemish Brabant, Belgium, is launching a new sports program at the ’t Zand leisure complex in Baal, which opened in September 2025. They mentioned that the sports hall quickly became busy during evenings and weekends, leaving daytime hours less used. To make better use of these hours, the municipality is introducing “Fit in ’t Zand”.
“January is the time when many people want to start over. With our new offerings, we’re making exercise accessible and affordable for everyone who wants to move more. Exercise is not only healthy, but it also brings people together and gives them energy,”

What is included in Tremelo’s new Fit in ’t Zand sports program?
The program costs €25 for a series of 10 classes and offers a wide variety of sports suitable for all ages and fitness levels. Alderman for Sports Bertrand Eraly (CD&V) explained that the activities include low-impact exercises like chair yoga and senior gymnastics, as well as more dynamic sports such as cross-training and badminton.
Construction for the ‘t Zand Leisure Centre in Baal- Tremelo began in November 2023 to provide the community with modern sports and recreation facilities, with concrete installation and all interior work continuing into 2024. The building was completed and officially opened in September 2025.
The 1st public demonstration day was held on May 4. Since that time, the facility has continued to host numerous public events and programs regularly throughout the community.
