The spokesperson for Infrabel, the company in charge of Belgium’s railway system confirmed that all train traffic on this line is stopped right now. In the accident on railway line 94 between Tournai and Halle, a tractor trailer crashed into a high-speed train. The crash was so strong that the tractor trailer was pulled along the tracks for a long way. The farmer driving the tractor got out of the vehicle before the crash happened and was not hurt. The company that manages Belgium’s railway system shared more information about the accident. They mentioned that the high-speed train was not going as fast as usual when it crashed. It has been said that this probably helped lessen the seriousness of the accident, reducing the chance of injuries or more damage. However, the collision still caused a lot of problems for train services, especially affecting the TVG inOui and other trains on that line.

Captain Mathieu Delneste, who leads the emergency services in Wallonie Picarde, gave an update after the accident on railway line 94 between Tournai and Halle. He confirmed that two passengers on the train got hurt because of the crash. One passenger had only minor injuries, while the other is in a more serious condition. After the accident, emergency services quickly got about 120 passengers off the train to keep them safe. They acted fast because there were risks involved especially with a high-speed train on the line. Getting everyone off the train was very important to prevent more injuries. Now, the focus is on helping the injured and dealing with the ongoing problems in train services.
