An accident occurred when a Romanian truck driver, who had been with a Belgian transport company for over ten years, didn’t notice a traffic jam ahead. He tried to brake but crashed into a van in front of him at 66 kilometers per hour. The impact was devastating, crushing the van between two trucks, and the driver, a Polish man, lost his life. His wife and two children are struggling with this sudden loss.

During the court hearings in Sint-Niklaas, the Romanian truck driver appeared very shaken and filled with regret.
