Herk-De-Stad (Brussels Morning Newspaper) – Rock Herk 2025 has officially sold out, with organizers crediting its unique music programming and renowned Limburg hospitality for the overwhelming turnout.

The organizers look back on a fantastic musical event in a distinctive Limburg setting with satisfaction, as the edition sold out. A great festival weekend had 25,000 attendees.

The strength of Rock Herk in Herk-De-Stad, Belgium, is its varied roster, which includes some well-known artists as well as fresh, up-and-coming talent from both domestic and foreign countries.

“It’s nice to be able to say again that we’re sold out,”

says organizer Maarten Reulens.

With a combination of well-known artists and up-and-coming talent, their lineup is distinctive. What sets Rock Herk apart are our Limburg atmosphere and the lovely park as a setting in a green environment.

Bob Vylan, who has caused a great deal of controversy in recent weeks with his remarks against Israel, was eagerly anticipated by everyone yesterday.

“A lot has been written about it, a bit too much even,”

says Maarten.

They got along well with Bob, and it soon became apparent that the performance would take place in a favorable setting. It is the responsibility of the artist to communicate with the world, and dedicated artists will always be given a platform. His performance was the best of the weekend thus far, and he conveyed a positive message.

Today, Kaboutertje Putlucht ignited the tiniest stage with fire and sparks. Additionally, MAMBA, Lola Massoels’s Limburg musical identity, supplied the required dance sounds at Dansbaar, complete with eye-catching pole dancers.

How does Rock Herk contribute to the local community and Limburg region beyond the music event itself?

The festival promotes easy and environmentally friendly travel options. Rock Herk provides a large public parking area located 2 km from the festival site with frequent shuttle buses running every 10 minutes on green electricity.

This reduces individual car use near the site and lowers the environmental footprint. There are also designated accessible parking spaces and bicycle parking facilities to encourage inclusive and eco-friendly travel.

Research on comparable festivals shows that events of this size typically stimulate the local economy through tourism, hospitality, and related services.

For example, large festivals elsewhere in Europe have been shown to create significant employment and generate millions in revenue for their regions. By attracting 25,000 visitors over a weekend, Rock Herk likely boosts local businesses, hotels, restaurants, and transport services in Limburg.
