On March 27, 2023, police stopped a man during a routine check and found he was driving without a valid license. This wasn’t his first problem with the law; he had 11 previous convictions. His repeated offenses led authorities to take serious action against him.

How did a Dendermonde man’s 11 convictions lead to a two-year prison sentence?

The judge sentenced the man to two years in prison due to the seriousness of his crime and his previous offenses. In addition to the prison term, he was ordered to pay a fine of 4,000 euros. This penalty was intended to punish him and discourage him from breaking the law in the future.

The man was also given a three-year driving ban, preventing him from legally operating a vehicle during that time. It has been said that  he was declared unfit to drive, indicating that his behavior made him unsuitable for the responsibility of driving in the future. These measures were implemented to ensure public safety and hold him accountable for his repeated offenses.
