Popular Food Sharing Restaurant Humphrey Closes in September

Brussels is one gastronomic restaurant poorer. Restaurant Humphrey, located at Sint-Laurensstraat 36, will close its doors on September 23. The owner of the building, which also houses the record company PIAS, decided unilaterally to terminate the lease agreement with chef Glen Ramaekers.

Reservations will be accepted until September 22. To festively mark the end of the restaurant with Filipino-inspired cuisine by Ramaekers and his partner Julie De Block, a very last gastronomic six-course dinner will be organized on Friday, September 15.

That day, a total of 45 people will be able to enjoy a unique menu composed by Ramaekers himself, together with two other big names in Belgian cuisine: Mallory Gabsi and Yves Mattagne.

The restaurant may be coming to an end, but the Belgian-Filipino chef has no plans to stop. For example, a pop-up by Ramaekers himself will immediately open in the same building. From October 20 to December 20, the chef will organize a temporary – currently secret – culinary event.
