Wijnegem (Brussels Morning Newspaper) – Hundreds of fans gathered at Wijnegem shopping centre on October 11, 2025, to meet Pommelien Thijs and get autographs for her new album Gedoe, with lines stretching several hundred meters.

As VRT News reported, the Wijnegem shopping centre, in the province of Antwerp, Belgium, was inundated with fans of Pommelien Thijs on Friday morning, October 11, 2025. The first people arrived at 7:30 a.m. to celebrate the release of her new album, Gedoe. Crowds grew quickly as more fans gathered.

Pommelien Thijs did not start signing autographs until 10 a.m. Fans held albums, posters, and merchandise ready to be signed.

“The two of us left at 7.30 this morning to make sure we got here on time,”

says a woman who was there with her daughter.

“Thanks to her, I’m a fan too,”

she laughs.

What drew hundreds of fans to Wijnegem to meet Pommelien Thijs?

Fans said the long wait was worth it.

“We’re taking everything we can. These are the last moments we can see her before the final performances,”

one fan said. Others had already received autographs but came again to meet her.

“She’s so sweet and makes such beautiful music,”

another fan said.

Rules were set to allow as many fans as possible to get an autograph from Pommelien Thijs. Each fan was allowed to bring only one item to be signed. This could be her new album, an older album, or another item of their choice. Photos were not allowed. The session was strictly for signing

Organisers said the rules would make it possible for the singer to reach more fans in less time.

“They come from Pommelien’s record company.”

Katrien Geysen of Winegem Shop Eat Enjoy explained on Radio 2.

Despite the rules, not all fans were able to get an autograph. At its peak, the line stretched for several hundred meters. Fans at the end of the line were told there was no point in waiting. Many were advised to try other events later.

Pommelien Thijs is also visiting shopping centres in Sint-Niklaas and Kortrijk today, Oct 11, 2025. Fans said the singer’s music also teaches lessons.

“You learn about society just by singing along and belting out her songs,”

one young fan said.

“If we, the youth, didn’t watch the news, we’d hear it from Pommelien. That’s a lesson for us.”

“You learn about society through its songs. If we didn’t. Watch the news, we’d hear it from her.”
