Police report filed after teen spits at a bus driver in Bilzen

Bilzen (Brussels Morning Newspaper): An 18-year-old boy at Maastrichterpoort in Bilzen spat at a bus driver, leading to an argument. The driver sustained a minor elbow injury, and police are investigating the incident.

On 17th October at the Maastrichterpoort stop in Bilzen, an 18-year-old boy was lying on a bench. When the bus driver asked him to sit up, the boy spat at the driver, making the situation more serious. Then, another young man joined in, and it turned into a heated argument between the two boys and the bus driver.

What led to the police report after the bus driver incident?

According to Frederik Wittock, a spokesperson for De Lin the bus driver was upset and had a small injury to his elbow. He went back to the depot right after the incident. The driver works for a subcontractor and is getting help for his feelings. The police came and wrote a report about the fight, and both sides still need to be questioned to find out what happened.

It has been said that such incidents highlight the challenges public transport workers face when dealing with difficult passengers.
