Sint-Truiden (The Brussels morning Newspaper): During a police operation three drivers were found under the influence leading to license suspensions. A biker fled but was caught with a motorcycle lacking insurance, registration and potentially misused license plates.

During a police operation in Sint-Truiden-Gingelom-Nieuwerkerken officers checked drivers in Attenhovenstraat, Velm and Clockemstraat. Out of 90 drivers tested three were driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Out of the three drivers found under the influence one had too much alcohol in their system so their license got taken away for 15 days. The other two drivers had drugs in their system and they also got a 15-day suspension for their licenses.

What happened to the biker in Velm?

In Velm a biker tried to run away from the police during a check. Even though the biker initially got away the police later found the motorcycle nearby. When they checked the bike they found drugs on it. To make matters worse the motorcycle didn’t have insurance or registration. The license plate also had issues suggesting it might have been misused or had problems. These discoveries raised worries about the legality and safety of the motorcycle.

After finding the issues with the motorcycle the police made several reports about the violations. They are now investigating further to understand all the problems and to find out who the motorcyclist was. The investigation is looking into the lack of insurance and registration for the motorcycle as well as any other possible criminal activities related to the drugs found on the bike.
