According to Frank Winters, the move is happening gradually. Different services will move in phases. He mentioned that this move would improve functionality and accessibility. It will also eliminate inefficiencies caused by the old, dispersed infrastructure

All our logistic services are housed in it,

explains Frank Winters.

They used to be spread out over the domain but were worn out.

How is Sint Oda modernising care for 240 residents in Pelt?

Sint Oda has a new laundry service. It is now fully operational. Sint Oda houses 240 residents. The laundry service processes 1,200 kilograms of laundry every day. Many care institutions outsource laundry services. Sint Oda decided to keep the laundry service in-house.

Officials mentioned that an external company would take a week to return washed clothes. The internal service can do it in one day. They mentioned that the new laundry service shows Sint Oda’s commitment to modernization. This is not just in logistics, but also in improving the quality of life for residents.

The new main building is the final part of a modernization project at Sint Oda. The project aims to improve infrastructure and care services. Over the past few years, Sint Oda has renovated the living groups. As part of the project, the old laundry and technical service buildings were demolished.

This made space for new facilities. The next step is to demolish the old main building. This will happen in September 2025. This will clear more space for new developments. It will also improve the overall layout of the domain.

The old main building was built in 1970 and is outdated. Sint Oda is located on Breugelweg in Overpelt. It is like a small village. It provides a safe and structured living environment for 240 children and adults with severe disabilities. The residents live in 28 different living groups.

Around 500 staff members work at Sint Oda. According to the officials, they work in different departments to make sure everything runs smoothly. This includes medical care and logistical operations. Sint Oda is modernizing its site.
