Oud-Heverlee (Brussels Morning Newspaper) – The park in Oud-Heverlee near Leuven has added a skate park, pump track, playground, and pavilion. Mayor Bart Clerckx highlights ongoing improvements, including pond renovations and better paths, enhancing its appeal.
As reported by the officials, the Oud-Heverlee park, which is close to Leuven in Belgium, has been undergoing numerous changes recently and thus has become an improved location for all people to visit. They installed a skate park, pump track, and new playground.
How is Oud-Heverlee park being improved for visitors?
The park has built a new pavilion in the place of the old cafeteria. The pavilion also has bathrooms. The youth center also got new bathrooms. Mayor Bart Clerckx says that these changes make the park better because it’s easier to use and has more things for everyone to enjoy.
The park is still being improved, even though it has new things like the pavilion. The park is not finished yet. The ponds are being changed, and the trees around them are being cut down. Officials said that this is part of a big plan to make the ponds better for nature and to make them look nicer.
They mentioned that the plan is to work with the Agency for Nature and Forests and the province to make these changes. Vaalbeek River will be connected to the ponds, making the water flow better.
The park is getting a new walking path in the water so people can walk around the ponds differently. The mayor also said that they’re going to make the community center, De Rosenberg, better, and they’re going to change the Maurits Noëstraat road that goes through the park. They are going to redesign the road. All of these changes are part of making the park better for everyone. The park will have better buildings and roads.
“Thanks to these further developments, this place south of Leuven and the beating heart of the Brabantse Wouden National Park will fully regain its historical and natural splendor,”
the mayor concludes.
