Ostend (The Brussels Morning Newspaper): Ostend will not share updates on the Thermae Palace until mid-October. The city urges the new government to focus on saving the monument and work together to avoid delays.

The city has said in a recent press release that it will not make any public statements or share more details about the Thermae Palace case until mid-October. This means there will be a pause in information about the case and no new decisions or updates will be shared during this time. The city’s choice to hold off on communication until mid-October might be because of ongoing talks, meetings, or legal issues about the future of the Thermae Palace. This means that everyone involved including the public and other interested parties, will have to wait for any official updates or changes regarding the case until that time.

Can the new flemish government save the Thermae Palace?

It has been said that they urges the new Flemish government and the recently elected city council to focus on saving a specific monument. It says that right now the current government can’t make big financial decisions which means the preservation project is at a crucial point. No major actions can happen until the new officials start their jobs. They mentioned that the new government and city council need to take this project seriously and keep working on it so that the preservation efforts don’t get delayed because of the change in leadership.

They also call for all political parties and involved groups to work together. It hopes that everyone will agree on this plan, understanding how important it is to keep the project moving forward. By wanting unity and quick action after the elections the statement urgently asks for efforts to save the whole monument. It has been said that it shows concern that any delays in making decisions could put the monument’s future at risk, so it encourages a smooth handover between the outgoing and incoming leaders to protect the project’s progress.
