Hassrode (Brussels Morning Newspaper) – Oktoberfest at Brabanthal in Haasrode, near Leuven, sold out all 3,000 tickets. Organiser Sven Meeuwissen highlighted Bavarian outfits, music, long tables, and Flemish sing-alongs in the festival.

As reported, Oktoberfest in Haasrode’s Brabanthal, near Leuven, in the Flemish Brabant province, is fully booked. It starts at 2 p.m., on 8 October 2025, and guests are invited to wear authentic Bavarian garments like lederhosen or dirndls.

Organizer Sven Meeuwissen specified that those in traditional Bavarian outfits would receive a special treatment. He added that long communal tables, big beer mugs, and German music will help create a lively atmosphere typical of Oktoberfest.

What kind of people attend Brabanthal in Haasrode Oktoberfest?

The Brabanthal’s first Oktoberfest was a fully booked event. The organizers inform that there are small chances of joining the event for people without a ticket that are coming. The Oktoberfest in Flanders has been popular for the past couple of years.

Officials mentioned that Oktoberfest has been gaining popularity across Flanders, attracting more visitors each year. The Brabanthal edition in Haasrode is now the largest Oktoberfest in Flemish Brabant. It brings together traditional German music, long communal tables, and large beer mugs.

“We’re currently setting up the venue,”

Meeuwissen explains.

“It’s possible that a few extra spots will become available when the stage is installed.”

Oktoberfest started in Munich, Germany, in 1810 to celebrate Crown Prince Ludwig’s wedding to Princess Therese. It later developed into a beer celebration celebrated worldwide. In Flanders, Oktoberfest with Bavarian flavor was introduced at the beginning of the 2000s, and every year it appears to become even more popular. Small celebrations in villages evolved into bigger celebrations across the region.
