Lennik (Brussels Morning Newspaper) – Natuurpunt Lennik, part of Belgium’s largest nature group, seeks binoculars, nature tools, and volunteers to help underprivileged kids explore nature. Freddy Kempeneer leads the initiative.

As VRT News reported, Natuurpunt Lennik, in the province of Flemish Brabant, Belgium, is looking for binoculars and other simple nature tools. They want to help schools and youth groups that enjoy going outside to learn. Many of these groups like nature, but they do not have the right materials.

Freddy Kempeneer from Natuurpunt says more young people want to explore nature. To help them, the group will make a nature kit. The kit will be used during trips or given to schools. It will have small binoculars for kids and stronger ones for adults.

“Good binoculars are expensive,”

Says Kempeneer.

“Not every school has the resources to equip a classroom for birdwatching or spotting other animals.”

What is Natuurpunt Lennik doing to help all kids explore nature?

Natuurpunt Lennik also wants other tools to help children learn about nature. They are looking for field books to name birds, bugs, and plants. They need magnifying glasses. Officials mentioned that insect boxes are useful for watching bugs safely. They also want posters and picture cards that show animals and plants. Freddy Kempeneer says anything that helps children enjoy nature is welcome.

Natuurpunt Lennik wants to help children who do not often go into nature. They think all children should have the same chance to enjoy the outdoors. Some kids come from families with little money or few options to explore. Natuurpunt says nature is for everyone. They want to give these children the chance to take part in walks, outdoor games, and learning activities.

Natuurpunt Lennik is equally in search of volunteers who would like to assist with activities with young people. They require individuals enthusiastic about nature and also have fun working with children and adolescents. They made it clear that volunteers assist with school visits, guided nature walks, workshops, and more.

People who want to help can give binoculars, nature tools, posters, or their time. Every gift or helping hand makes a difference. Natuurpunt Lennik hopes to create a better and greener future by giving all children a chance to enjoy and learn from nature.

Natuurpunt Lennik is part of Natuurpunt, the largest nature conservation organisation in Flanders, Belgium. It is run mostly by volunteers and focuses on protecting local nature reserves, promoting biodiversity, and educating the public about the environment. The group often works with schools, youth groups, and families to organise nature walks, workshops, and clean-up actions.
