What started as a parking issue quickly got worse and one man was shot and killed at the scene. Ingrid Moriau from the Halle-Vilvoorde public prosecutor’s office gave an update on the shooting in Blijde Inkomststraat, Mechelen. The second victim who is the cousin of the man who was killed is in stable condition but still in serious danger. It was also reported that the suspect in the shooting threatened the wife of the deceased and a neighbor. This adds a worrying aspect to the situation showing the suspect’s aggressive behavior. Besides these threats the suspect reportedly fired a shot at the 15-year-old son of the deceased. Even with how serious the situation was, the wife, neighbor and son were not hurt.
