Man dies in fall from 5th floor in Knokke apartment

Knokke-Heist (Brussels Morning Newspaper) – A 32-year-old man from Antwerp province died after falling from the fifth floor of an apartment building on Lippenslaan in Knokke overnight Thursday.

The incident is being looked into as an accident by the public prosecutor’s office. The inquiry is still under progress.

The man died from his injuries after falling from the fifth storey at around three in the morning this night.

“The victim is a 32-year-old man from Antwerp, who was on vacation in Knokke-Heist,”

Said Griet De Prest, spokesperson for the West Flanders public prosecutor’s office from Belgium.

Two women were also present in the apartment at the time of the fatal fall. Our evidence indicates that they were being questioned while in shock.

“At this point, we absolutely do not suspect foul play, but rather an accident,”

Says De Prest. The public prosecutor’s office is investigating the circumstances of the fatal fall.

“Camera footage will be analyzed, and the police are also conducting a neighborhood investigation.”

Whether the victim was intoxicated at the time of the occurrence is yet unknown.
