The event will take place on July 13, 2025, in Hasselt, offering mental health consultations and expecting around 15,000 visitors.

Bert Brone, the chairman of Limburg Pride, explains that this theme sheds light on the mental health challenges faced by LGBTI+ individuals, many of whom experience discrimination and fear in expressing their true selves. The theme promotes self-acceptance and encourages everyone to embrace their journey.

How will Limburg Pride 2025 in Hasselt support LGBTI+ mental health?

Research by Cavaria, an organization focused on LGBTI+ rights, highlights the importance of mental health within the LGBTI+ community. Societal stigma, fear of coming out, and the threat of discrimination can lead to higher levels of anxiety, depression, and feelings of isolation. Limburg Pride 2025 focuses on mental well-being to create a supportive environment where individuals feel empowered to prioritize their mental health and self-love while addressing the societal challenges they face with their identity.

Limburg Pride is set to take place on July 13, 2025, in Hasselt, featuring a parade, a festival, and a special ‘village’ at Colonel Dusartplein. The event will include free consultations with mental health professionals and a ‘wellness walk’ focused on mindfulness and self-awareness. Organizers expect around 15,000 visitors from Belgium and neighboring countries, with the village being developed by Tourism students from XL University College.
