Knokke-Heist (The Brussels Morning Newspaper): Two German tourists a 16-year-old girl and a 28-year-old woman were rescued by lifeguards after getting caught in rough waters despite the yellow caution flag in Knokke-Heist, Belgium.

On 15th August the day of the incident a 16-year-old girl and a 28-year-old woman both from the same family decided to swim in an area marked with a yellow flag. This flag signifies that while swimming is permitted extra care is necessary due to potential hazards. The two were aware of the cautionary flag but did not anticipate the rapid change in water conditions. Around 5:20 p.m. while they were swimming the water suddenly became rough with big waves which surprised them. This sudden change made it hard for them to stay safe and handle the situation in the water.

What happened when rescuers saved German tourists from rough waters in Knokke-Heist?
