Leuven (Brussels Morning Newspaper): Leuven’s Christmas Market will feature a new “Christmas Tower,” 20 meters high and 15 meters wide, with platforms for drinks and views. Organizer Marc Pinte highlights it as the main attraction from December 11 to 22, 2024.

Leuven’s Christmas market is introducing a new attraction this year called the “Christmas Tower.” This tower will be about 20 meters high and 15 meters wide, allowing visitors to climb it for great views. Along the way, there will be two platforms where people can stop to rest and enjoy a drink. This feature is expected to attract many visitors looking for a fun experience and to enjoy the festive atmosphere.

What new features will Leuven’s Christmas market offer this year?

According to Marc Pinte, the organizer, the Christmas Tower will be the main attraction at this year’s market, offering something new and exciting for locals and tourists. He mentioned that the combination of beautiful sights, cozy resting spots, and holiday cheer makes the tower a highly anticipated feature, adding to the charm of Leuven’s famous Christmas market.

“We first saw a Christmas tower in Germany, and after some discussions, we were able to bring one to the Leuven Christmas market,” says Pinte. He adds that the tower will be built first for practical reasons, allowing the people of Leuven to see it from the start of construction. The team is excited about this new attraction.

According to Pinte Brasserie Rudolf will be large, and Santa’s house will also be there and Santa now has a bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen. There will be a post box for kids to send their letters, and adults enjoy visiting Santa’s rooms. Leuven will be decorated with many Christmas trees and lights. Pinte mentioned that the Christmas tower won’t replace the Christmas tree, and the decorations will be long and will probably stay up for the Christmas season.
