Leuven (The Brussels Morning Newspaper): Leuven’s annual fair on September 2 features a revamped cattle competition with a catwalk, market stalls, a flea market, regional products and lively pub performances celebrating community spirit.

This year the traditional cattle competition at the annual fair in Leuven is being updated to attract more people which is a big change after 75 years. Alderman Johan Geleyns (CD&V) highlighted the goal of getting more public involvement while still keeping the main tradition of having a professional jury judge the animals. It has been said that one of the main changes is that there will be a new exciting way to show the animals. The draft horses and cattle will be displayed on a stage with a catwalk so the audience can see them up close. This setup aims to make the event more fun and engaging for everyone.
