How did a Porsche end up in water near Knokke-Heist’s A11?
The driver was coming from Knokke on Natienlaan and trying to get onto the A11. Near the turn onto the highway, the driver lost control. The vehicle drove off the road and into the water. Emergency personnel said that they do not know why the driver lost control. Perhaps it was driving too fast, the road may have been slippery, or the driver may have been distracted.
Despite the accident, the driver quickly got out of the car. He got out of the Porsche before it went completely underwater and swam to the shore. When help arrived, they gave him medical care right away. Then, they took him to the hospital to make sure he was okay. He wasn’t badly injured and seemed fine.
Officials mentioned that they used special tools to pull the Porsche back onto the road. While they were doing this, the A11 entrance was closed for safety. This caused some delays for drivers early in the morning, but traffic started flowing again after the car was removed and the area was safe.
