Kaja Kallas is on a visit to Saariselkä, Finland from 20 to 22 December to partake in the North-South Summit arranged by Prime Minister Petteri Orpo. She will join Greek Prime Minister Kyriákos Mitsotákis Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson to debate key topics on European security, defence and preparedness, as well as migration, including the instrumentalisation of migration.
Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo has invited the prime ministers of Sweden and Italy, Greece to Saariselkä in Lapland and EU High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.
Europe has to take greater commitment for its security. This implies that European countries have to be strong leaders, both in the EU and in NATO. Our most significant threat is Russia, which is attempting to consolidate power and instil discord in Europe,” states Orpo (National Coalition Party).
