Brussels (The Brussels Morning Newspaper) – Interreg Italy-Slovenia and the EU Commission are undertaking the STUDENTS4COOPERATION – Interreg high school competition.

What Is the STUDENTS4COOPERATION High School Competition?

The Interreg Italy-Slovenia Programme, in partnership with the European Commission’s DG REGIO, is launching the STUDENTS4COOPERATION – Interreg high school competition. This initiative is available to high schools within the Italy-Slovenia Programme area. The competition seeks to actively engage young people in European cooperation via an educational and fun activity while emphasising the significance of their contributions to the development of their local communities.

How Can High Schools in the Italy-Slovenia Area Participate in the Competition?

Each high school in the Italy-Slovenia programme site can participate in the competition by assembling teams of students, who will be tasked to present their own Interreg project. The team that presents the most unique project idea will be rewarded with a study visit to Brussels, and it will also have the chance to present the student’s work at the Interreg GO! event in front of an international audience.

This competition is managed as part of the Interreg GO! event, planned for March 2025 in the twin cities of Nova Gorica-Gorizia, the 2025 European Capital of Culture. The competition was created by Interreg Volunteer Youth (IVYs) working within the Italy-Slovenia Programme, in partnership with other staff members and the European Commission staff. The purpose is to create an initiative that encourages young people to actively participate in planning future cooperation projects.
