House fire in Hasselt results in one fatality

Hasselt (The Brussels Morning Newspaper): A house fire on Normandiestraat in Hasselt resulted in one fatality after firefighters rescued the occupant who later died. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

On 12th  August  around 6:56 the Southwest Limburg Emergency Services got a call about a house fire on Normandiëstraat in Hasselt right behind the station. Firefighters quickly came to put out the fire. They are still checking how bad the fire was and the damage it caused but so far there are no reports of injuries or deaths. The cause of the fire is still being looked into as emergency services try to find out how it started. More information about the damage and any effects on nearby properties will be shared once the situation is completely under control and a full investigation is done.

What led to the fatal House fire on Normandièstraat in Hasselt?

The fire department quickly responded to the fire on Normandiëstraat in Hasselt with several vehicles. When they arrived firefighters were able to rescue a person from the house. However despite their efforts and the attempts by emergency services to revive the person it was unsuccessful. The Limburg public prosecutor’s office has confirmed that the person who was rescued has died because of the fire.The investigation into what caused the fire is still happening and the authorities are trying to find out what led to this event.

Fire experts a medical examiner and other specialists have been brought in to look into the fire that happened in a building on Normandiestraat. When they arrived they found that the fire was still smoldering which means it had been burning for a while before the firefighters got there. The victim who was the only person living in the building was found dead. A lounger in the building was completely burned making the investigation more complicated. During the response Normandiestraat was closed for a while so emergency services could do their work. The cause of the fire is still not clear and the authorities are doing a detailed investigation to find out what caused the incident.
