Vilvoorde (The Brussels Morning Newspaper): Helpcenter Belgium, led by spokesperson Patryck Green, is collecting donations for Polish flood victims. They aim to gather essential items in Etterbeek and Vilvoorde, following the recent severe floods in Poland.

In 2020, the Polish community in Belgium started Helpcenter Belgium, a group focused on helping people in need. Patryck Green, the spokesperson, highlighted how the organization is dedicated to supporting others during tough times. One of their important actions was helping out during the floods in Wallonia, Belgium, in 2021, where Helpcenter Belgium helped organize aid for the communities that were affected. Helpcenter Belgium is focusing on Poland, where recent floods have caused serious problems. They are using their resources and support networks to help Polish citizens affected by these disasters, continuing their mission to provide important help when it’s needed.

What items are needed to help center Belgium’s Polish flood relief?

The organization is currently running a collection drive to gather important household items and non-perishable food. They are looking for donations of cleaning supplies, washing powders, disinfectants, and disposable gloves, as well as long-lasting food like canned goods, dry grains, and pasta. These items are very important to help those in need and make sure they have access to basic necessities. For people who can’t give physical items, financial donations are also welcome. This money helps the organization buy more supplies and cover their costs. By helping in any way, people can make a big difference and provide important aid to those who need it.

The organization has set up collection points for donations in two places, Etterbeek and Vilvoorde. These locations are for gathering important household items and non-perishable food. By collecting donations at these central spots, the organization wants to make the process easier and get ready for the next steps in distributing the items. Once a good amount of donations has been collected, Patryck Green from Helpcenter Belgium said that trucks will be sent to take the items to local aid organizations in Poland. This way, the donations can be delivered quickly to those in need, helping with humanitarian efforts and providing important support to the affected communities.
