Hasselt (The Brussels Morning Newspaper): The new sustainability company, formed by AEW, Detec Services, and Vandenbriele, aims to reduce energy use by 10-30%. General Manager Sophie Haven plans to hire 50 technicians.

The new sustainability company, created from the merger of AEW, Detec Services, and Vandenbriele, wants to combine their skills in electrical and High Voltage Low Current (HVLC) installations. This plan aims to use the strengths of all three companies to offer a wide range of services that focus on energy efficiency and sustainability. By working together, they can provide better solutions for managing electrical systems and using advanced HVLC technologies.

What energy efficiency solutions can help commercial buildings reduce CO2 emissions?

The new company helps owners of commercial buildings become more eco-friendly by reducing energy use and CO2 emissions. General Manager Sophie Hayen says the merger allows them to offer new solutions for businesses. The Energy Circle will check the building’s systems and structure to find ways to improve sustainability using special software to see how energy is used. They will create a custom plan for each client with upgrades like switching to electric heating, using energy-efficient lighting, adding roof insulation, and installing solar panels. These changes aim to help buildings use energy better and meet sustainability goals.

The company wants to help other businesses and public organizations get ready for tougher energy laws by reducing energy use in buildings by 10 to 30 percent. They currently work with schools, sports centers, a cultural center, and workshops in Bruges, and have also helped the local police and Claes Retail Group. Hayen believes it’s important to have different experts work together to provide complete support, as customers prefer having one contact for complex issues. By combining electrical and heating systems, they can make energy use more efficient, like using smart controls to manage solar panels and water pumps together.

They look at everything that affects energy management, including energy production, usage, water management, and smart technologies like apps and live monitoring. The company plans to hire 50 new technicians soon to build a strong local presence in Antwerp, East Flanders, West Flanders, and Limburg. They’re looking for maintenance technicians or electricians.
