Hasselt (Brussels Morning Newspaper) – Hasselt’s first Limburg Pride will take place on July 13, 2025, featuring a parade and festival. TV personality Luc Appermont and actor Wannes Lacroix will host, promoting LGBTQ+ diversity and inclusion.

Hasselt, Belgium, is preparing for its very first Limburg Pride on Sunday, July 13th, 2025. The event is being held by the LGBTQ+ community of Limburg. Officials said it’s a major celebration for all individuals who come from various backgrounds.

There will be a parade through the city with music, dancing, and rainbow flags.  After the parade, there will be a big festival with food, music, and fun.  The organisers hope that everyone will come out and celebrate diversity in Hasselt.

Will Luc Appermont and Wannes Lacroix lead a successful first Limburg Pride?

The first Limburg Pride is happening in Hasselt, Belgium. 2 famous people are helping to organize it.  Luc Appermont is a well-known TV personality, and Wannes Lacroix is a young actor.  They want to make sure everyone knows about the event. Appermont has a lot of experience, and Lacroix brings energy and enthusiasm.

“I didn’t have to think about it for too long,”

Says Appermont.

“When people from Limburg ask me something, I say ‘yes’ more easily. And I also think it’s a really nice initiative. Everyone is part of the same family and if we can promote mutual respect, I’m happy to help. But I’m definitely not going to present it all by myself, because the new Limburg top talent and actor Wannes from Bocholt will be accompanying me.”

Wannes Lacroix is excited to be a part of the first Limburg Pride. He’s going to be presenting with Luc Appermont, a famous TV personality. Lacroix thinks it’s a great opportunity to learn from someone he admires.

He’s happy to be part of such a big event, especially in Limburg. Lacroix was also in Antwerp Pride last year, but he feels this is even more special. He believes that this event is important for the LGBTQ+ community in Limburg.

“I talk about it openly and want to discuss the issue because I notice on the street that it is still a big problem. We don’t want to pump unnecessary negativity into it, but we also have to dare to name the problem,”

Lacroix said.

Wannes Lacroix also thinks it’s important to talk about homophobia and fight against it. He knows that many people already know about Limburg Pride, but he believes it’s still important to keep talking about it.
