Strasbourg (Brussels Morning Newspaper) – Greens/EFA MEPs hold press briefings on Hungary’s situation, transparency, and corruption, streamed online today.
Greens/EFA Co-Presidents MEP Terry Reintke and MEP Bas Eickhout will hold a regular plenary session press briefing on the issues of the week in the European Parliament press room Today at 11:00 in Strasbourg. The press conference can be tracked online via the EU Parliament’s website.
Also from 13.45 to 14.15, MEP Tineke Strik will carry out a press conference on the circumstances in Hungary. Tineke Strik is the new European Parliament Rapporteur for the situation in Hungary and will be joined hands by MEPs performing on Hungary from the democratic groups in the EU Parliament: Michał Wawrykiewicz MEP (EPP), Thijs Reuten MEP (S&D), Fabienne Keller MEP (Renew), and Kostas Arvanitis MEP (The Left). The press conference will also be streamed live via the EU Parliament’s website and Interactio. The Press discussion will be streamed with interpretation in EN, FR, DE, EL, HU & PL.
Furthermore, to observe the visit of Hungary President Viktor Orbán to the plenary Greens/EFA MEP Daniel Freund will be hosting a photo exhibition in partnership with Transparency International Hungary on “Where is Our Money, Mr. Orbán?” Daniel will carry out some opening statements today at 13:30 at the Flower Carpet exhibition area (LOW building, Floor 0, close to the canteen) and the exhibition will operate all week. This exhibition shed light on the extent of corruption and mismanagement in Hungary, presenting a glimpse into how public money is misapplied under Orbán’s government.
