Vilvoorde (Brussels Morning Newspaper) – The Gospel Church of Vilvoorde, led by Pastor Tom Mualaba, relocated to Asiatpark in 2025, providing a modern facility for worship and interactive services for its diverse congregation.

As VRT News reported, the Gospel Church of Vilvoorde has moved from St. Joseph’s Church to a new building in Asiatpark. Pastor Tom Mualaba says the church is a faith community that practices Christianity in a contemporary way. Services are designed to be lively, with music, joy, and interaction.

What prompted the Gospel Church of Vilvoorde to move to Asiatpark?

Most visitors come from Flanders, but there are also churchgoers from Africa and Brazil. Pastor Mualaba says the community is open to everyone and aims to create a welcoming space. The Gospel Church of Vilvoorde is not connected to the Catholic Church.

Pastor Tom Mualaba says the congregation follows a more Protestant approach. The church focuses less on formal structures and institutions. Instead, it emphasises gathering people together to share and experience their faith. Members take part in services.

Pastor Mualaba describes the site as very special for the congregation. Asiatpark is a former military area that has been redeveloped, with various groups and companies carrying out different activities.

The Gospel Church of Vilvoorde was first established in St. Joseph’s Church, serving a growing Protestant community for many years. In the early 2000s, Asiatpark, a former military area in Vilvoorde, began its redevelopment into a hub for businesses, cultural groups, and community initiatives. By 2025, the Gospel Church moved all its activities to a new building in Asiatpark.
