Ann and Jan didn’t plan to go to the Olympic Games in Paris at first. They unexpectedly won tickets to a tennis match and that experience along with the lively atmosphere in Paris really impressed them. They enjoyed it so much that they decided to stay for four more days to fully experience the Olympics and explore more of the city. Their first four-day visit made them want to stay longer,so they recently came back for another four days. This second trip let them really enjoy the Olympic spirit and explore more of what the city has to offer. What did Ann and Jan experience at the Paris Olympics?
Ann Dries shared an exciting moment from the Olympic Games when she and Jan watched a race with Abdi. At the start of the race,Abdi was in fourth or fifth place and Ann was already impressed by how he was running.It has been said that the competition was tough and it was unclear if he could really make a big difference in the race. The hotel in Meudon where they are staying is right next to the marathon. They woke up early to cheer for their runner,Bashir Abdi and they were happy to do it. They were at the 30-kilometer mark just after the famous Belgian Hill where many Belgian fans came by bus the night before.They mentioned that when Abdi passed by he was in fourth or fifth place. It was amazing that he finished in second place. They think it’s a great achievement even though they don’t run they’re really impressed by him. Jan and Ann are really enjoying the Olympic Games. Ann loves the special atmosphere and the energy from the athletes, feeling both happiness and sadness as everyone gives their best. She was thrilled to see Abdi win a medal and felt the excitement when Sarah Chaari won bronze in taekwondo. They had a great time at The Belgian House in Paris, taking selfies with athletes and experiencing the highs and lows of the games.
