Genk (Brussels Morning Newspaper) – An 84-year-old man was seriously injured in a traffic accident on Europalaan in Genk this morning. Emergency services responded swiftly to the scene.
The man struck a tree after swerving out of his lane. After a period of closure, the route leading to Dilsen-Stokkem is now open again.
The accident occurred close to the Horensbergdam Karting Track, Genk, which is located close to the Belgium border with As. An 84-year-old man’s automobile overturned on its side after colliding with a tree. He was pulled from the automobile by firefighters via the trunk.
“We suspect the man became unwell,”
Said CARMA police.
“The man was taken to the hospital in critical condition.”
The crash did not involve any other automobiles. The specifics of the accident are being looked into by the police.
