Geel (Brussels Morning Newspaper): A group of friends from Geel-Jannes Wuyts, Dries Verlinden, Jarne Goossens, and Robbe Reyns is trying to break the beer bike world record by cycling 60 kilometres on 21 December. They’re raising money for De Warmste Week, selling seats on the beer bike for just 10 euros. The event includes live music, food, and drinks and runs until 8 PM at their Christmas pub.

A group of friends from Geel, Jannes Wuyts, Dries Verlinden, Jarne Goossens, and Robbe Reyns, are doing something special for De Warmste Week. They want to raise money by trying to break the world record for beer bikes. Last year, they raised about 2,000 euros by walking and cycling on a bridge. This year, they thought of a new idea during a fun night out. One of them said it’s a cool way to help and much more creative than just selling waffles.

Can friends from Geel break the beer bike world record?

A group of friends is trying to beat the world record for beer bikes by cycling 60 kilometres today on a roundabout. This is happening on private land owned by scouts in Geel. People can join in by buying a seat on the beer bike. The first day, a seat cost 50 euros per hour, and now it’s only 10 euros.

There will be fun activities all day, like live music and comedy. The friends mentioned, “We’ll have hot soup, mulled wine, pancakes, and bacon sandwiches.” They started this morning and hope to finish by 8 pm at their Christmas pub. If they break the world record, it won’t be official and won’t be in the Guinness Book of World Records.
